Hi,
either since updating DM to r14 SP2 or since updating Windows 10 Client to Fall Creators Update (1709) I always get a notification that I have to restart the client to complete registration/setup of "CA ITCM r12 Video Capture Adapter".
Anyone else see this notification too??? No matter how often I restart the client, the message comes back.
Thanks in advance
We are also having this problem. We have an open issue with CA Support.
This is a known problem for which we do not currently have a solution. The message does not prevent Remote Control from working and can be ignored.
Please open a support issues and so that a fix can be given as/when it becomes available.
Yes we can ignore it but it is irritating for the normal user. I hope it will be fixed soon!
I also have a case on this problem. We are using r14 SP1. It’s related to Windows 10 1709
Hello
A workaround is to change the Configuration Policy: Remote Control - Host - Video Capture - Video Capture Mode.
Change value Auto to Polling.
After a reboot, you won't see the notification.
Any disadvantage in changing this policy? Polling? Client will poll server? what is the time interval for the poll?
Hi
In case of huge graphics, it may slow down the remote session.
In this particular case it will not make any difference because the Agent fails to detect the driver (the Microsoft API call is failing in 1709) and falls back to polling mode when a connection request is made, so whichever way the configuration is set you will end up capturing the screen with polling mode .
Mathieu on standard computer under Windows 10 1709 the remote control are slowly even if no window are present.
although I changed the policy, I still see that notification!
I have same problem.
The polling solution remove temporary the message.
I’m waiting update CA client.
You can tryy changing the following configuration policy: DSM\Remote Control\Host\Video Capture\ Video capture method to Pollling. You can either update the Default Computer Policy or create a 2nd policy and just apply to a few machines.
We are working with Mircosoft to determeine a long term solution with the Drivers.
Is it possible that the notification only disappears for the regular user but Admin with DSM Explorer etc still gets it?
Is it fixed yet?
Yes. Please see the published solution:

It works, thank you very much.
