I am unable to find documentation related to this. 

When configuring a screen - there are different areas with the following headers

Enter HTML to appear at the beginning of the page

Enter HTML to appear at the end of the page

Enter HTML to appear before the create

Enter HTML to appear after the create 

Enter HTML to appear before the list of results

Enter HTML to appear after the list of results

Enter HTML to appear at the beginning of the confirm screen

Enter HTML to appear at the end of the confirm screen

What is the difference between these and/or what scenarios should these be used in?

Each of these fields is shown in different areas of the screen, depending on the screen you are updating.  Beginning and End of page updates are at the top and bottom of the page regardless of the content.  Before and after the Create is referring to screens that have a "create" button.  This html would appear before or after that.  List of results refers to screens (such as searches) that return a list of results.  You can display custom html before or after the list of results.  And finally for screens that also display a "confirm" dialog, html can be displayed before or after this dialog.
