12/14/2017 10:03:03 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: OK let's start. We're a little light on the CA side but are going to do our best!
12/14/2017 10:04:30 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: Any questions for us? :)
12/14/2017 10:05:05 AM from Lowell to Everyone: For the Jaspersoft Report Designer, do you install that on the server or your local desktop
12/14/2017 10:05:43 AM from Karl Shlayfman (CA) to Everyone: @Lowell this would be installed on your desktop
12/14/2017 10:07:26 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: Quiet group today. Everyone must be ready to take off for the holidays;)
12/14/2017 10:08:37 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: We'll give it a few more minutes for questions.
12/14/2017 10:08:40 AM from Lowell to Everyone: Does anyone have a way to open old ROD files? (Actuate eReport Designer) I just need to pull a query from an old report, but cannot find a designer app.
12/14/2017 10:09:15 AM from Lowell to Everyone: For Jaspersoft - can you generate a report just based on a query? - where is the query editor? Only in the desktop report designer?
12/14/2017 10:09:59 AM from Martti K. to Everyone: @Lowell I do have a version or eRD Pro somewhere.
12/14/2017 10:10:15 AM from Mustafa Wazirali to Everyone: For Actuate, we dont have the designer
12/14/2017 10:10:17 AM from Karl Shlayfman (CA) to Everyone: @Lowell it does not look like you can open that file if you don't have a designer.
12/14/2017 10:10:54 AM from Mustafa Wazirali to Everyone: You can use jaspersoft studio
12/14/2017 10:11:44 AM from Allan G to Everyone: Have there been any reported issues with encrypting the Oracle database for on premise users?
12/14/2017 10:11:45 AM from Lowell to Everyone: Is there a way to get an old version of the eReport designer, so I can open that file to extract the query?
12/14/2017 10:12:27 AM from Lowell to Everyone: It was back when CA used to send out those round things called DVDs.... I think New Kids on the Block was the band of the year way back then
12/14/2017 10:13:00 AM from Alberta Patterson to Everyone: @ Lowell - Good one!
12/14/2017 10:13:22 AM from Lowell to Everyone: I think they still had cassette tapes in all the cars, too! ;)
12/14/2017 10:13:58 AM from Lowell to Everyone: The trouble is I thought I saved the query for finding Lost timesheets, but I can't find that now.
12/14/2017 10:14:24 AM from Mustafa Wazirali to Everyone: @ Lowell: http://download.cnet.com/FYIReporting-Designer/3000-10254_4-10597461.html
12/14/2017 10:14:28 AM from Lowell to Everyone: I did find the old .ROD files from the backup... just not the queries contained therein
12/14/2017 10:14:51 AM from Alberta Patterson to Everyone: May I ask about votes for ideas here?
12/14/2017 10:14:59 AM from sarmistha to Everyone: @Lowell, here's some documentation on how to create and publish Jaspersoft studio reports: https://docops.ca.com/x/xJ74G
12/14/2017 10:15:37 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @Allan, We have not seen any issues with this
12/14/2017 10:16:53 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: @Alberta - not sure what you want to know about votes but you can ask. This is mostly technical discussion but if we know we'll try and answer.
12/14/2017 10:17:12 AM from Martti K. to Everyone: FYIReporting Designer is a report and charting system based on Microsoft's Report Definition Language (RDL) about 10 years after Actuate eRDPro
12/14/2017 10:18:46 AM from Alberta Patterson to Everyone: @Chris - what is the range of votes to have an enhancement considered?
12/14/2017 10:20:14 AM from Mustafa Wazirali to Everyone: @ Martti- http://www.itninja.com/software/actuate/e-report-designer-professional/versions
12/14/2017 10:20:20 AM from Lowell to Everyone: @Martti - thanks! I tried downloading a FileViewer app, but it didn't work. That's the trouble with Google, it sends you to the wrong place
12/14/2017 10:20:20 AM from Mustafa Wazirali to Everyone: Actuate e.Report Designer Professional 8 (Build 80B040716)
12/14/2017 10:20:38 AM from Mustafa Wazirali to Everyone: Actuate e.Report Designer Professional 7 (Build 70C030426)
12/14/2017 10:21:03 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: @Alberta - Probably not something we're going to be able to answer beyond product management considers the top items. Even then they need to fit in with product direction. If you have concerns about a particular idea you can reach out to your account team and they can check with product management.
12/14/2017 10:22:00 AM from Alberta Patterson to Everyone: @Chris - Understood, thank you!
12/14/2017 10:22:04 AM from Lowell to Everyone: For XOG - has anyone discovered an issue with complex queries not writing with Lookups or nSQL portlets?
12/14/2017 10:22:39 AM from Lowell to Everyone: the CDATA option doesn't seem to work any longer for complex queries in the Lookup or nSQL portlets
12/14/2017 10:22:48 AM from Karl Shlayfman (CA) to Everyone: @Lowell are you referring to updating existing ones or creating new?
12/14/2017 10:25:24 AM from Lowell to Everyone: @Karl: updating existing or creating new ones
12/14/2017 10:25:35 AM from Lowell to Everyone: either one, I get issues
12/14/2017 10:26:04 AM from Karl Shlayfman (CA) to Everyone: @Lowell are you getting an error or it succeeds but does not update query correctly?
12/14/2017 10:26:52 AM from Lowell to Everyone: I get an error saying the query is invalid. But, the query ran just fine for the portlet - like I design an nSQL portlet and attempt to XOG it out and into the next environment
12/14/2017 10:27:44 AM from Lowell to Everyone: I see in the XOG out that it wraps the query in CDATA tag
12/14/2017 10:27:52 AM from Karl Shlayfman (CA) to Everyone: @Lowell there are some known issues with that, sometimes it requires a space after Select
12/14/2017 10:28:34 AM from Lowell to Everyone: Like this?@SELECT@ SELECT :
12/14/2017 10:28:58 AM from Karl Shlayfman (CA) to Everyone: @Lowell here is what I suggest if you can consitently reproduce this issue I would raise a case so we can investigate.
12/14/2017 10:29:50 AM from Lowell to Everyone: ok, will do, thanks
12/14/2017 10:31:19 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: OK Everyone - We're going to wrap up for today. Please join us back here in January and enjoy the holidays and Happy New Year!

12/14/2017 10:31:41 AM from Lowell to Everyone: Do you have any good documentation for WSDL calls?
12/14/2017 10:32:41 AM from Lowell to Everyone: I know there are changes to the REST API, I just need to learn the new process
