  • 1.  Work-group license is preventing from generating test cases.

I have installed ARD and the program is up and running but i was never prompted to insert an activation license. Now I am trying to generate test cases and am receiving this error:

"Standalone License: Work-group license is required for path optimisation. for additional features please contact CA Support."
I have a license but do not know how or where to insert.
Any advice? I have ARD installed in a different laptop and code meter ran, this time it did not run.

Ayancy and I had a WebEx to resolve this issue after she opened a support case.

When upgrading from an earlier version of ARD, the license previously used will be carried over to the new version.
The license used with 2.5, must have been a standalone or viewer only license.
When upgrading, you will only be prompted to enter a new license key if your previous license has expired or been corrupted.

CodeMeter should be installed as a prerequisite with any ARD installation.
We recommend getting the latest GA releases from CA Support Online to make sure you have the correct download.

If you receive a 'Work-group license is required' error message, it means the license you were provided with is actually a 'Stand-alone' ARD license, which does not include test case generation capabilities.

If you receive an 'Internal error', it means that either you are missing the 'AgileDesigner' license container or you have an incorrect license container like 'AgileDesignerUnb', 'AgileDesigner-Trial', or 'AgileDesigner-Offline'.

To resolve the workgroup license error, we needed to apply the online workgroup license key.
Before doing this, we had to resolve the internal error seen when trying to apply the online license key.
We did this by importing the 'AgileDesigner' license container into CodeMeterCC.

After that we were able to successfully apply the online license key.
