    Hi

We recently implemented CA PM 3.2 at a customer.

    Integration with Spectrum was configured.

Have somebody done some work to ensure that PM & Spectrum are in sync?

If not in sync which devices is missing....

    Regards

    Klaus

    Hi Klaus,

I wonder if there is anything causing this question to come up?

Are there doubts about the sync between products?

Are there devices you've added to the IP Domain named Global Collections in Spectrum, that are not getting synced to the CAPC inventory?

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Hi Michael

    Thank you for the response

Let me answer by the questions from the customer.

    1. check that all devices in the (Spectrum) Default Domain Global Collection and CAPC are constanly in sync
    2. identity any devices in Spectrum which are not in CAPC and remedy the situation by forcing a new synchronization.

They basically wants report or some sort of confirmation that the devices are in sync.

    Regards

    Klaus

    Hello Klaus,

There are unfortunately no tools to perform the checks being asked about.

New tools to do this for us would be enhancement requests to add them to the existing functionality.

It is possible manually by exporting Default Domain GC membership lists in Spectrum, and comparing them to inventory lists generated from CAPC.

If using the DA as well, they likely want to be sure it's up to date with the inventory synced from Spectrum to CAPC. If syncing devices to the DA for discovery after new ones appear from other data sources like Spectrum, you'll likely want to add that additional inventory list into the comparison.

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Hi Klaus,

if you suspect that some devices have not synched, please open an issue with support to investigate.

Please enable debug on the integrated OneClick server, as below, create the synch and upload the tomcat.

    Enabling Debug Logging

To facilitate the investigation of issues, enable CA Performance Management integration debug

logging on the OneClick Web Server.

    Follow these steps:

Navigate to the OneClick home page.

Click Administration, Debugging, Web Server Debug Page (Runtime) on the OneClick home

    page.

Select ON for the 'Performance Center Integration' option.

Select ON for the 'Performance Center Integration Sync' option.

Note: Enabling CA Performance Management integration debug logging can generate a large volume of data in a short amount of time.

    regards

    Shane

One of the issues we have is that we use NFA and CA Spectrum as data sources, so often NFA will be the source of some inventory and CA Spectrum the other. Currently we have to write scripts to access these API's (or since NFA is so far behind, direct SQL) and then compare the tools and generate our own reports.
