IDMS

  • 1.  How is IDMS and associated products packaged/delivered?

I am not a Systems Programmer. My management wants to make sure we don't get behind on maintenance and a key question for me is how IDMS and the associated products are packaged? If all products are packaged and installed on the same 'tape', do we get maintenance for it all at the same time? If we install maintenance to bring me up to IDMS 19.x do all associated products get upgraded, too (regardless of whether I have licenses for them?)

Here is my DCPROFILE - if I install maintenance for IDMS do all these get maintenance or is it separated out?

    Hi Paul,

The IDMS installation includes all options, whether a customer is licensed for them or not, and maintenance applies to all options as well.  Note all users are now entitled to use almost all of the options as part of the portfolio consolidation program.

The Product Intent Table allows an administrator to disable use of certain options, but it has no impact on installation or maintenance of the IDMS software.

    Cheers,

    Dave
