    Hi,

we installed a APM Single Sign On plugin on customer environment.

This component works with an EPAgent that works as data collector.

    We noticed the following behaviour:

If we start EPAgent, with plugin in state stopped, and then we start plugin, Introscope receives metrics as expected.

If the plugin is running and we restart  EPAgent, no metrics appears in Investigator from the restart moment.

It seems that the EPAgent needs to start with plugin in stopped state, and this could be a problem managing a production environment.

    Has anyone experienced this issue?

    Any suggestion/workaround?

    Thank You in advice.

    Marco

We are going from version 12.0 to version 13.x soon.  We don't see this issue in 12.0, but wanted to know if you are using 13.x so we know to test this in our environment too.

Let us know if it was fixed or it this was a non-issue please.

    Hi Marco,

As you referred to the plugin, just confirming that you are using the older "CA APM Manager for CA SSO" ("CA Wily Manager for SiteMinder") version 12.x?

That version uses shared memory to exchange the data between SiteMinder and the EPAgent, so what you observed could be related to some breakdown of that process when you restart the EPAgent with plugin already started - see attached pdf for details.

The newer "CA APM for CA SSO "13.x referred to by Earl uses a different architecture where SiteMinder calls the EPAgent REST API
