I am looking for test cases of ca clarity 15.3. We recently have upgraded our application from  14.2 to 15.3 on test instance. We are looking for test cases. Please can anyone share these test cases.

Hi Samad. The jump from 14.2 - 15.3 has enough points for you to check quite a few things. Without switching over to the new UI, there are some important tests that you would have to build - particularly as it relates to your environment.

• There are quite a few additional access rights that have been progressively introduced between the versions. 15.3 has a bunch of additional rights introduced that you as a System Administrator would not immediately have access to (but can quickly add for testing). These new rights are ones that you will have to validate against your access control model.
• Jaspersoft has been updated significantly since 14.2 as well. The menu item 'Reports and Jobs' has been reintroduced and gives the ability to run reports from the application. You will want to test how this works and potentially educate your users on how they can leverage this capability.
• 14.4 introduced a gotcha feature around the ability to delete all Cost Plans (including the Plan of Record). You may want to test what impact this has to your governance model.
• There are a number of key bug fixes addressed in the versions to 15.3. A couple of key ones for us were related to Tasks (schedules) and how some of the buggy functionality is getting fixed.

I would encourage you to scour the extensive release notes for 15.3. The document I reviewed end-to-end was over 400 pages long and the fixes included extensive work instructions to test whether the fixes have worked correctly.

To determine which features changed, you would check the Release Notes and Change Impact and Upgrade Guides for each release. In this case, 14.3, 14.4, 15.1, 15.2, and then 15.3. Plus any 15.3.0.x patches. All on docops.ca.com. Use the Versions menu to switch releases. Prioritize by the features you value most in your currently recognized business process and governance plans. For example, if XOG is a priority, test XOG, if Microsoft Project integration is not a high priority, move it down your list. Generally, you want to assume bugs are fixed and improvements are available, and can manage by exception; however, what often causes issues with such a leap from 14.2 to 15.3 is customization and legacy processes rooted in the past. The New User Experience in PPM offers the most value when customers can make the leap of faith to abandon old workflows and embrace new agile methodologies. Customers are telling us they can use the new features in 15.2 and higher without impediments and realize immediate value. In other words, you might find that core classic functionality works as expected (remove your customizations, of course) and that new ways of working replace old methods so legacy test cases would no longer apply.
