I have a situation where the JIRA Connector is not able to write the log files in the local directory where it runs. The customer (bank) has a global policy that restricts the Connector from being able to read/write etc. log files to the local file directory.  Has anyone had to overcome similar issues or have an idea about how to work around this?

The connector does not allow for redirection of log files.   

The userid of the person running the connector will need write access to the working directory where the connector is invoked (as you have noticed) in order for the connector to write logs. 

If you are just testing the connector, you could move it to your personal directory until it is ready for production.
