    Hello All,

We are on CA Data Maker V 4.2 and we recently moved CA TDM DB's ( Repo , Data Mart & GT Shredder) to new SQL Server 2016 instance. Now after database migration to new server , i was trying to connect data maker to server instance but i am getting below error:

Database Fatal Error Message: SQLSTATE = 08001
Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0
SSL Provider: The client and server cannot communicate, because they do not possess a common algorithm.

    Transaction Error Code: -1
    Database Error Code: -2146893007

CA Test Data Manager - Datamaker Details:

    GUI Version: 4.2.0.141 (6/22/2017 23:04:38)
    REP Version: 3.2I

I created a SQL Native Client V 11 connection on Server.

Could you please confirm if TDM V 4.2 Supports Native Client V 11 connection profile to connect to Repository or it only supports Native Client 10?

    Thanks,

    Nikhil

    Hello Manju,

    Thanks for your reply.

Connect to the Repository - CA Test Data Manager - 4.2 - CA Technologies Documentation

In this above link , it shows in Step 6 : "Select SQL Server Native Client 10.0 and click Finish."

We are having issues in creating Native Client 10 Connection due to some security settings enabled on the database server  , hence we wanted confirm if TDM V 4.2 only accepts Native Client 10 or is there any patch for Native Client 11 to work?

Please let me know if you want me to open a Support ticket for this.

    Regards,

    Nikhil
