  • 1.  Logoff issue

    Hello,

    We have an application which is protected using siteminder. The users of the application report that they are experiencing the unmotivated logoff. 

    What could be the cause for such unmotivated Logoffs?

    By "unmotivated logoff", if you mean users are being forced to re-authenticate even though they are active, then you are probably bumping up against the max session time.  Increase the max session time.

    HI David,

    Thank you for your reply. They are not forced to re-authenticate, instead they are just logged off. The configuration from SiteMinder side is ok. Also, I don't see any issue with Max timeout as we use a centralized config. It works for all application except this particular one. What else can be configured wrongly from application side ?

    Without looking at the logs , its hard to comment.

     

    It could be log out due to idle /max time outs. Their cookie may not be refreshing to update the latest access times.

    I would get the fiddler ensure the cookie gets updated regularly.

    Also check web agent trace log and identify why the user is getting logged out.

    Murali, In addition, check if you have any of the sub-realms (under the protected realms) are configured with shorter idle / max timeouts. You may be looking at only the main protected realms.
