The HotFix numbers are read as follows: The first digit is the last number of the year The second, third and forth digits are the number of the day of the year (the Julian day) The fifth is the ServicePack release. (GA = 1, SP1 = 2) The sixth digit is the build number. For example 235-561: in 2012 on the 355th day of that year for ServicePack 5 and it was the 1st Build 235-561 was released on Dec 21, 2012

I have to say that December 21st 2012 was a very extensive "building day".

Are you sure about this? I always thought that the last but one digit indicates the service pack level. You have to substract 1 and then this number gives you the service pack. Thus ***-261 means SP5 HF1

Hi Robert, I made and adjustment to the post above. You're correct about the ServicePack level.

New Versioning in V10: x.y.z-pre+build.nnn x = Major (main release) y = Minor (minor release) z = Service Pack (patch) -pre = Pre-Release (optional). For example: -dev (developer build) or -beta (beta version) nnn = Hotfix (build number)
