Hi.  I was wondering if anyone could give me some real-world examples of why you would put OS commands in the Pre Process tab and how it helps you.  Until recently I thought you could only put OS commands in the Process tab.  I'm assuming that there are use cases where it is beneficial to have the OS command in the Pre Process, but I can't think of any.  I'm assuming you could query something (dir or "ls -al") to get some output and/or return something from the OS, but what then do you do with that?  How do you use it?  I'm sure this is simple, but any help would be appreciated.  Now that I know this capability is there I want to see if / how I can use it.

I'm assuming it is OK to put general type questions like this out here.   :)
