Howdy folks. Working with a Unix/Linux environment here. Is anyone else using the Service Manager to control the java SQL agents? If so, can you share your service manager configuration with me? I can't seem, for the life of me, to get it to work.
Oh, heck. This should probably be in General Topics and not in How To.
If a mod could make the move for me, that'd be fabulous.
In command, I have: java -jar -Xrs -Xmx256M ucxjsqlx.jar
In the startpath, I have the location of the directory it resides (very similar to the way the wp and cp's are set up). It will not start. I've even tried changing it to a shell script that did nothing but create a file, and the file never got created because the script never got run.
Ha! Okay, I was able to get it to start the Jar directly. Running RHEL 6, I had to set the full path to the java binary (/usr/bin/java). Apparently, the servicemanager application will not run anything in the configured path environment variable.
The full command I'm using is: /usr/bin/java -jar -Xrs -Xmx256M ucxjsqlx.jar
The issue with running it out of the shell script is if you kill the process via the ServiceManagerDialog it only kills the shell
