Stopping Queue but scheduled jobs still run after restarting

I'm seeing some strange behaviour with Queues. When I stop a Queue, my schedule within that queue has status of " STOP - Queue processing has been stopped".
However, when I restart the queue, jobs which were scheduled to run during the stopped timeframe, start running. I would have expected these jobs not to run.

If I stop the actual schedule, I get the behaviour I'm expecting i.e. jobs scheduled to run during that time don't every run that day.

I've opened and incident and support have confirmed that the behaviour I'm seeing is not expected behaviour.

Anyone else see this happeneing?
