Has anyone successfully used scripts in ServiceManagerDialog to start/stop agents?

Since we monitor our agents, whenever we bounce the agents, we turn off monitoring, so our OPS team doesn't get false alerts. Has anyone of you successfully pointed to a script (on unix) and a batch file (for windows) in ServiceManagerDialog to successfully start/stop the agent?
