Is there a way to return the Informatica Session logs which are shown in the "Report" tab of the "Last Monitor" screen to the user via mail?

As long as you have a SMTP server configured for the AE, any reports available for view on the 'Report' for a task can be sent via a Notification object.

Here's the documentation for configuring a Notification object, look at the Attachments section.

The easiest way to activate the email is in the Post-Process tab of the job. Add:
