The script function SYS_ACT_RESTART() allows you to determine whether a task was restarted.

Let's say you want to DEFINE an array only if the task is run for the first time. It would then look like this:

:IF SYS_ACT_RESTART() = "N"
: DEFINE &ARRAY#, string, 10
:ENDIF
