Hello Automic Community!

We see a lot of questions around the proper way to shut down the Automation Engine system to avoid artifacting in the database and ensure jobs are not skipped. The best way to shut down the automation engine is to first ensure that there are no jobs currently running. Make sure you review all clients and cancel any jobs you do not wish to perform that are currently running. Ideally you would have established a window of time when jobs are not active for the shutdown. Using the Service Manager Dialog, right click the Services and select "End Service" -> "Shutdown (UC4 System)". Once all Services are in Status "stopped" the Automation Engine has been shut down. I hope this has been helpful!
