I prefer an uncluttered environment. That's why I prefer in the Service Manager Dialog the following display method:

    9bc1xs4j3pyo.pnghttps://us.v-cdn.net/5019921/uploads/editor/bk/9bc1xs4j3pyo.png" width="876">

I.e., you have one computer on which several systems run (e.g. Test-Systems). You just select the Computer in the drop down field Computer Name: and have all the systems listed in Phrase:.
    The alternative is:

    55mg9fbp7zrk.pnghttps://us.v-cdn.net/5019921/uploads/editor/xl/55mg9fbp7zrk.png" width="876">

You have an entry for each port on a computer in Computer Name: and only one Phrase:.

Of course, that's only cosmetics, but I prefer it in the first way, as I think it is more overseeable.

However, this works only if no Service Manager on this machine runs on port 8871 - our Service Manager default port. If you install more then one Service Manager services one one machine and none of them is on 8871, the Phrase can be selected like in the first screenshot.

    Hi Claus,

We have uc4 version 12 in server 1 and we have a windows agent in another server 2.
in server 2 , we have installed service manager. the agent is visible in server 2
but in server 1 , when we select server 2 in computer name
Environment name is blank and server manger dialog is hanging.

How to achieve your 1st screen shot. could you show some light on us

I suppose there is no Service Manager instance running on your Server 1 ?
you need at least one service manager instance per OS Server to control AE and/or Agents !

    Example:

    Server1 - automation Engine(part1)
                   SMGR Phrase "AE_Server1"
                   SMGR(Port 8871)

    Server2 - automation Engine(part2)
                   SMGR Phrase "AE_Server2"
                   SMGR(Port 8871)
                   SMGR Phrase "AE_Server_Agents"
                   SMGR(Port 8872)

    Server3 - some V12 Agents
                   SMGR Phrase "V12_Agents"
                   SMGR(Port 8871)
                   SMGR Phrase "V112_Agents"
                   SMGR(Port 8875)

    cheers, Wolfgang

    Thanks Wolfgang,

I am new to this technology. Sorry I was not able to follow you advice.

We have service manager in both the server.

Do I have to  change the service manager dialog INI file settings

Currently we have below setting in server 1 service manager dialog INI file.
    Host01:UC4server1
    Lastname:UC4server1
    LastDest: AESYS
    Host02:UC4server2

We have service manager in both the server.
=> Thats good and enough. no more to install, so far.

Do I have to  change the service manager dialog INI file settings
    => No, I think not.

You can try entering the server name (or IP) followed by :[SMGR Port] into your SMGR Dialog Window.

Does your Server1 then  show up in the SMGR Dialog?

Pls make sure, that the SMGR process is running on Server 1

    cheers, Wolfgang
