    SAP Forms now available for AWI

    Beginning of this week Automic released the SAP forms for AWI which represent a graphical UI for definition of SAP jobs (the job type SAP was implemented with V12 GA - but the graphical form was missing).

    The SAP forms are available in the form of an UI plugin for AWI and can be downloaded from downloads.automic.com / Automic Web Interface SAP Forms, either as content for our AWA/ASO/ARA packages or in the Advanced Mode as separate component.

    Hi Robert_Schausberger_8294,
    thanks for the fast delivery of the SAP forms for the AWI - cool!

    Here are a few things I notices regarding the AWI
    • It's not possible to open generated tasks
    • The "Export" dialog does not disappear when I export objects. That's confusing.
    • Import and Export of STORE objects doesn't work - they are exported and imported empty, the content is lost.

    Will these issues also be resolved soon?

    Hi PhilippElmer,

    happy that you like the SAP forms ;-)
    Ad generated tasks --> this will be implemented in AWI 12.1
    Ad Export/Import of Store --> this seems to be a bug, have you reported this to support already ?
    Ad Export dialog --> thanks for the feedback - agree this is somehow confusing, will check-back with our teams on how to improve the User Experience there

    I've noticed too today that the export dialog is not closing after the export is finished. I'll open a ticket for this and forward it for analysis to our development department.

    AWI News with V12 Service Pack 1

    With SP1 of V12 (release date end of january 2017) we added some new minor features:
    1) Show Object name as Primary in Workflow Editor
    You can add the following setting into configuration.properties file
    wfDisplaySettings=NAME,TITLE
    To show the object name as primary identified in the workflow editor/monitor.

    2) Auto Navigate to Search Results in Workflow Editor/Monitor
    Use the Search function and jump to / highlight the search results in the workflow editor/monitor, even if the result is outside of the current selection area.

    3) Net Area now shown in Administration / Agent-Overview

    4) Bulk Action "Ignore Queue Limit" in Process Monitoring for tasks that are in a "Waiting for Queue Slot" now possible

    Do you know if the same Performance Optimizations were also implemented/ported back for AWI 11.2.3?

    The reason I am asking is because I am currently working with Automic Support on the Incident (INC00129348) we have were AWI 11.2.3 has performance issue when monitoring large ARA Workflows (Application Workflows with 10+ ARA components, 25-30 workflow steps with Deployment profiles spanning 25-30 servers).
     
    With AWI 11.2.3 Initial Workflow execution monitor to open and render on the page takes 30-35 seconds, and subsequent component steps to expand the view takes another 15-20 seconds. The rest of the AWI 11.2.3 interface navigation is much more responsive (under 1-2 seconds). Same complex ARA workflow execution monitoring with AE10/ECC2/ARA5 was opening within 2-3 seconds. 

    Unfortunately upgrading to AWI 12.0.1 and AE 12 is not an option for us at this time.

    after being involved in your case today as well i can confirm that this is actually a different technical root-cause in your case and you should have received an update already on your Incident.

    We’ve received update today about an hour ago from Automic Support and looks like AWI 11.2.3 complex ARA workflow monitoring UI performance issue will be addressed now on PRB00129712 and will result in new AWI/ECC build 11.2.4.

    the Cockpit object and its functionality got replaced/deprecated with V12. Old cockpit objects can still be shown in existing dashboard objects, but not created in AWI.
    The functionality to display data in graphical pie charts/line charts is available as part of Analytics and Reporting with V12 and V12.1
