Is there a way in Automic AE to have a script kick off when an objects status changes?
For example: When a jobs object status changes from "waiting for start time" to "active" I'd like to kick off a script of some sort every time a status changes.
In case the
object has the flag “Generate at runtime“ activated, the easiest way is to put
the “script kick off” at the beginning of the pre-script.
We have some that are looking for an updated or changed file and use an event to trigger an object.
On the Event: File System tab: The check field: Path_file_count is greater than 0
AND FILE_Stable within hhhh:mm (we use 00:01)
do you really want to trigger whenever am object status changes? You will have to deal with millions of events - of course depending on the nomber of tasks running - according to this list:
Hi Pete, Thanks for posting your Automic Script there. While a pulling method may work on a smaller scale we are really looking for a push method from the product itself. It appears a trigger on the table would allow us to track this data which we may create on our own but we would really appreciate Automic taking this up.
Could any one please vote this up for PM to take a look:Ability to Track Job Status Changes
