Has any of you been using the Service Manager Dialog in Windows to Start / Stop the Unix (Linux) Agent? Is that possible? If so, would you mind sharing the UC4.smd info?I am able to list it but cant start / stop it.
the front-end (ServiceManager Dialog) can connect to an ServiceManager instance running on both operating systems. it is definitely not a 1:1 relationship.
What is the error message in the log of smgr?
ThanksPeter Grundler andWolfgang Brueckler,
I've managed to make it work.I can start / stop from the Svc Mgr Dialog. But I realize that when I start the agent directly from the Unix box, the status on the Svc Mgr Dialog doesn't change. If I stop on the Unix box, it will become red on Svc Mgr Dialog and show as not running. But if I start again on the Unix box it will not change to green.Does it happen to you as well?
Wolfgang Brueckler said:Yes, thats normal. SMGR is not able to recognize, if you start an agent binray manually.so to start an agent "correctly" please use either SMGR Dialog or the SMGR commandlines- see herehttps://docs.automic.com/documentation/webhelp/english/AWA/11.2/AE/11.2/All%20Guides/help.htm#ucaazp.htm
Ok, so I am on the right track :)
