  • 1.  Is file transfer done thru JOBF secured?

    You Asked

What protocol is used for JOBF file transfer? Is the file transfer secure like SFTP?

    And we said …

Yes, it is secured with the same strong and secure encryption (AES-256) like every other job execution. The file is send directly from Agent to Agent. In order to establish a secure connection both agents receives a session key from the Automation Engine (over the already secured AES-256 connection between Agent and Automation Engine). The session key is used to establish a AES-256 encrypted connection between both Agents. This mechanism ensures that nobody can start a file transfer without prior authorization from the Automation Engine. Further it is not possible for an attacker to intercept or read the file transfer due to the encrypted communication between the Agents. The transmitted data itself is verified with a checksum that is embedded in the data stream.

The protocol itself is proprietary. Due to the design of the file transfer it ensures the same security properties (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability) like other secure file transfer protocols.
