Agents and License

Licenses are based on mainly three important parameters, here is a license description:

Platform: describes the application, in our example EX.OS.WIN for Windows System agent. This license is therefore intended for a such agent.

Category, class and number, is a kind of "license pool" from which a respective agent can take a "token" at the start, and this until the pools are exhausted.

The license category is set in client 000 in the properties of the agent in the 'Attributes' tab:

The license class, on the other hand, is found in configuration files (INI files) in the bin directory of the respective agent) of the agent as text input:

[GLOBAL]
NAME=WIN01
SYSTEM=AUTOMIC

LOGON=1
LANGUAGE=(E,D)
LOGGING=..\TEMP\UCXJWX6_LOG_##.TXT
LOGCOUNT=10
HELPLIB=UC.MSL
HELPCACHE=ALL
LICENCE_CLASS=V

Now, if the category has been set correctly, the license class will also start, and this pool still has free "tokens", the respective agent can now start.

Status regarding the current license consumption can inform the license overview in real time (refresh of the panel required). The number of tokens used is shown in the column "Host / Used"

If the agent does not find an available token during a startup attempt, it stops.
 In the agent report you will then find such an error message:

U0034036 There is no valid license for Agent '<Agent name>' (License class '#', license category '<category>', platform 'EX.OS.*').
