I'm using the RAFTP product to do a SFTP transmission and have a couple of general questions. Based on my limited knowledge and reading from the internet, it's my assumption that SFTP always does a binary transfer, is this correct? However, when I transfer data from a Mainframe to a UNIX box, the data is converted from EBCDIC to ASCII; since it's a binary transfer I would of expected the data on the UNIX to have been in EBCDIC. Does the remote host client always translate the data? Is there a way to do the transfer without the data translation?
