    Support statement

The version 12.0 UserInterface Java is only available in version 11.2 compatibility mode and will be the final version.

From version 12.0 onwards, all new features and enhancements will only be accessible via the Automic Web Interface (AWI).

    Support Question:

Does the final Java UI (version 12.0) work with AE version 12.1?

    Answer:

    The Java UI can login.

Some Objects are restricted, due to changes in AE V12.1.

    Compatibility is not guaranteed.

Support will not accept issues reported for version 12.1 AE and Java UI.

Version 12.0 is supported until 2020-09-30, so there is no immediate pressure to upgrade.

This probably also implies that it is not neccessarily safe, I presume?

So folks using the Java UI with 12.1 run the risk of possibly screwing up their database (e.g. login objects with long passwords), or even being subject to a default assumption that the old Java UI, if in use, is the culprit for problems of unknown origin?

Fwiw, we are fully committed to deploying AWI, and only AWI, to our user base when we update.

    Cheers.

    Dear Carsten_Schmitz_7883

    Thank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately it is not possible to open LOGIN OBJECTS with the JAVA UI due too changes in AE 12.1.

    One addition to this:

In case of emergency or no other way is found, it’s ok to use the Java UI as workaround.
However it should be used for the specific action, which doesn’t work in AWI, only!

Many thanks, that's the kind of clarification I was looking for.

Best regards and a happy new year :)
