In the current documentation for version 12.1 the following statements can be found

    (https://docs.automic.com/documentation/webhelp/english/AWA/12.1/DOCU/12.1/AWA%20Guides/help.htm#Analytics/Aaas_gettingStarted-sysReqs.htm%3FTocPath%3DInstallation%2520Guide%7CInstalling%2520Analytics%7CNew%2520Installation%2520and%2520Configuration%7C_____3):

Note that the Streaming Platform is currently not supported on Windows OS.
    and
Note that the Rule Engine is currently not supported on Windows OS.

The Installation is also only documented for Unix environment.

    Why?

The statements in our Documentation are true at the moment. Both are running on Windows but the streaming platform (Kafka) has a bug on windows (it needs to be restarted over and over again to delete old data). This bug would fill the hard disk in a productive system.

Therefore, there is no support on windows at the moment. For POC/Test Installations it still makes sense to have these components on windows (to test the features) therefore the One Installer will install these components too on a Windows environment.

We hope that there will soon be a solution to this problem and then Windows will officially be supported.

But it is not yet officially supported by Automic (because of the Kafka bug).

Our recommendation at the moment is that you can of course run the corresponding docker containers for Flink/Kafka/Zookeeper on Windows, and if only Windows is there.

Thanks for the explanation.  Is there any update on this?
