Today I discovered another limitation of the Automic Web Interface. It does not display combo box elements in prompt sets correctly if the combo box’s dynamic reload option is enabled. Here is the same prompt set in the JUI and AWI.https://us.v-cdn.net/5019921/uploads/editor/f6/zjtdjuobpmyh.png" width="405">https://us.v-cdn.net/5019921/uploads/editor/7w/550qaa12bmpx.png" width="904">Note that the dynamic combo box does is not displayed as a true combo box. The text entry field is inactive, the only way to interact with the element is to click the ellipsis button () and select an item from the modal dialog box that appears.https://us.v-cdn.net/5019921/uploads/editor/vr/5nk033unx5yj.png" width="904">If the list of values is very long, one must simply scroll through the list to find the desired value. There is no way to type in the desired value, or type in a partial value to filter the results as one can with non-dynamic combo boxes.
I submitted an enhancement request for this:
To be honest, I’m tempted to open an incident for this because it’s a clear regression compared to the JUI. I suspect Automic would simply claim that this is the new intended design though. So, if you want real combo boxes in prompt sets, please vote for the idea.
Broadcom deleted this idea.
Dynamic combo box prompt set elements in the AWI still do not appear as combo boxes in v21. There is no way for the user to enter text as in a true combo box.
