Team,
If you are deploying the CA Identity Suite Connector Server or using the CA Identity Suite Provisioning Wizard Installer, you may see a strange issue/error messages likely due to UAC enabled on MS Windows 2012 R2 / MS Windows 2016 Server.
I did not see this called out in other tech notes or support cases, so I am adding this information here.
Challenge: These error messages may be seen if attempting to install (even with "right click - run as administrator") due to permissions with the non-service ID without local administrative privileged access.
Example: IM Wizard Provisioning Installer - ca-im-14.1.0-win32.exe
When executing the IM Provisioning Connector Server Wizard Installer, as the non-service ID (with local admin access), you may see this error message: Java.lang.Error: Trampoline must not be defined by the bootstrap classloader
Example 2: Direct install via Connector Server Installer - setup.exe
- May be done also for the vApp Installation (via install.cmd)
- Error message will be a popup box (and error message in the log) - The Installer is unable to run in graphical mode mode. Try running the installer with the -console or -silent flag.
- Error message #2, in the im_connector_server_install.log (under %TEMP% aka c:\users\user\appdata\local\temp )
com.installshield.wizard.StandardWizardListener, err, could not initialize interface swing
Resolution:
Create an ADS domain service ID or local MS Windows service ID, and grant local administrative group access. Then kick off either installer process.
Note the success in the im_connector_server_install.log as well.
Cheers,
Alan
