  • 1.  Portfolio Management - what next?

I wanted to check that I hadn't missed something within the Portfolio Management functionality.  Once we have been through the process of ranking, scenario planning and finally setting the Plan of Record, what is next?

Can assume that any changes we made in a plan in Portfolio Management on Priority, Approved and dates for example, have then to be updated separately in the investments themselves?  There is no "update investments from POR button?

You are correct. The functionality enables you to test the options for modifying current investment information to create a portfolio of investments that meets all the portfolio targets, but you then need to discuss the options with all involved parties (using the portfolio comparison reports as an additional means of showing the results) and agree on which "plan" is the best way forward.

Once the approval to go ahead with the updates is given, and the Plan of Record is set, each investment manager is then responsible for manually making the identified updates to their investments.

continuing from this can anyone confirm that you cannot change the planned operating cost of an investment as part of a plan?  I can edit things like priority and approved but not cost.

Good news! You can change the costs.

You need to update the Portfolio Dashboard view setting (on the Settings subpage) - select the PMO-Portfolio Investment Dashboard. This will add the Financials tab, and that is where you can modify the periodic costs when you are in a Plan.

    Hope that helps -

Thanks Sue.  We implemented the accelerator pack and can make financial changes as you describe.

Just trying to figure out why the "Investment Planning by Period" displays by calendar month rather than Fiscal time period.  Must be a setting somewhere.........?
