  • 1.  CASM bilingual implementation

    Hi all,

Is it possible to set up the CA SDM and CA SC to support two languages (GUI) in the same environment.

From the CASDM 12.5 green book, to achieve bilingual implementation, it can be done by using form group or secondary server.

Is there something similar for CA Service Catalog?

    Hi Chris,

In respect to SDM we may implement multilingual approach using the forms feature, but haven't located any document emphasizing the same for catalog. What version are you planning this implementation for?

Both SC and SDM will be 17.1.

I found this on Docops but not sure this is what I am looking for, can anyone confirm?

Catalog is fully multi lingual so no problem.

    Just use the localize feature.

For SDM this is not as easy. Even if you translate the form and use form groups. The reference value will only be in one language. (Urgency, Priority, Status name, Category name, etc...)

    Chris.........

Multilingual capabilities is a feature that many customers have asked for.

There is a current idea/enhancement in the WISH LISTED stage regarding this feature:

    SDM Multi-language support

    Paul,

Thanks for the reply, but the idea was created more than 4 years ago and still only wish listed. This is hard to present to any potential clients.

    Chris............

I would suggest then creating a new idea/enhancement and provide details regarding your particular business case.
