Why do orcl_agent constantly startup and shutdown?
Patsy, DB agents start when there is a need from SDM and end when the job is done. For example, when you run pdm_extract, a db agent starts and when the job is done, the agent is shutdown. Maybe you see other issues? Thanks _Chi
Thanks Chi but in my system the orcl_agent is constantly starting and stopping. 316 times in the last 24 hours and no one has been running pdm_extract. Is that normal?
db agents start and end very often so I won't say it is not normal...
unless you see some issues like DBMS performance etc I don't think you need to worry
