  • 1.  Automated Spectrum to CMDB data export/import

    Hi All,

Many many moons ago there was a export tool that was used to export data out of Spectrum to the CMDB but it was a manual process running an executable that gathered the information and created a file, that was then used to import into the CMDB.  Is there any way today that this can be automated to get data into the CMDB from Spectrum?

    Thanks In Advance

Out Of the Box (OOB) we don't have such automation.

But you can use the CA PAM (Process Automation Manager). See the link below:

That's a good question I want to join.
I am also looking for an automated process that replaces the cumbersome scripting in the Modeling Gateway.
The changes in the networks are so fast that the devices are more in the Spectrum than in the CMDB. The CMDBs are now fed by Spectrum.
It would be conceivable to have a kind of parts list based on Entity View. Each module that can be swapped and has its own S / N (FRU = true) is provided with a CI in the CMDB with the corresponding assignment to the higher-level module / chassis / device, similar to exporting from a Global Collection. That would be a dream.

    Thanks,
