CA-PPM 14.2

I have a contractor who is playing both Developer and Architect role and I have entered the Rate Matrix for two different rates.

A resource can be mapped to only one role at the resource level but whereas I can assign different role at the project level.

On the Rate matrix property, I have added Resource Role and entered the rate.

The resource enters timesheet tasks for both (developer and architect)

Does the rate matrix pick up the role from Investment role or resource primary role page?

Example:

1/1/2018 - 12/31/2018 - Developer - $75

1/1/2018 - 12/31/2018 - Architect - $100

Project A - Developer

Project B - Architect.

The role used is the Assignment Role on the task the resource worked on.

The Investment Role sets the default for the Assignment Role when a resource is first added to the task.

You also need to know that if the Investment Role is changed after the resource is assigned to the task then the Assignment Role does not change.

If you want to update all Assignment Roles after changing the Investment Role you need to run the Action 'Assignment Roles' on the Team Staff page.

Thanks Steve.  The scenario you had explained is, two different tasks on the same project but I tested with two different projects with different roles on each project

Appreciate that but I was just explaining where PPM checks for the role.

Providing both projects use the same matrix I don't see any reason why your matrix shouldn't work.
