How can I do a silent probe install, like CDM, on a server after a Robot was silently installed?
In the nimsoft directory, create a file called request.cfg.
Populate it with
<distribution request>packages = cdm</distribution request>
On next restart of the robot, this file will be read and the packages listed will be installed. Separate the list of probes with commas if necessary.
We use a single package, the initial purpose of which is to put the desired packages in the archive directory, it includes a blank distsrv.cfg file to restart distsrv to reread the directory contents, and a second request.cfg file to install the actual packages.
Why don't you put some user tags in the robot.cfg as part of the silent install then create a group based on those tags and then use MCS to deploy CDM ?
Or you could use application discovery scripts to set some attributes and again create a group on those attributes with MCS profiles on them.
I like Rowans idea for user tags and MCS personally.
However if you are not using MCS yet you can use the request.cfg
file to do the same
