  • 1.  Configure current user in a custom field

    Posted Jun 25, 2018 06:34 PM

Hi, I need to show the current user that is logged in a custom field. Currently you can not configure that, a partner told me I had to hack it. The box attribute is possible to show the current user, but not in a custom attribute.

e.g. Reported By field have this configuration. This is not possible in a custom field   CA PPM - 15.1

    Any solution?

    Regards

    Jr.

    Hi Marco

Please check the following ideas and see if they are related to your requirement:

Enhancement request - "Current user" value in custom lookup fields

Relative values in fields within Filters and Views

Vote up for them if they are.

    Thanks

Unfortunately voting for Ideas on this platform will not get anywhere - the "ideas" platform has moved, see here ; New Customer Innovation Process for Clarity PPM

CA should really close down "ideas" on here, or at least stick a banner on the pages so not to confuse people

    Hi Marco,

Based on some previous posts, it looks like you can do this if you create a Dynamic Query Lookup that includes the below:

     @WHERE:PARAM:USER_ID@

(See related discussion: lookup to display user's own information)

You can go the way Kristin suggests, but you cannot default this the way the OTTB manager fields work. (they would need to go into the lookup and select).

with one simple update statement in all investment objects it is possible to utilise the current user macro.

i.e. setup the lookup like normal with userid as the hidden id. Run update statement for that lookup. magical current user option then appears.

Note: does not work for custom objects without some real hacking

If you want to know get in touch, obviously use at your own risk.

(sorry not posting customisations in the public forum!)
