Our implementation team has the task to propose, estimate cost, architect, design and oversee implementation of a process to: 1) install and configure a secondary instance of CA Identity Manager Archive database; 2) perform an initial move or data migration of data greater than a certain configured number of years (for example one (1)) from the primary instance of the CA Identity Manager Archive database to the secondary instance; 3) implement service components to execute on a scheduled basis and perform a move or data migration of data greater than a certain configured number of years from the primary instance to the secondary instance to keep the primary instance lean for run-time processing; and 4) implement service components to execute on a scheduled basis and perform a backup of the secondary instance and then a purge of data greater than a certain configured number of years (for example five (5)).

The objective of this discussion is to solicit experience-based commentary on the topic, recommendations on alternative approaches, and inclusion of competing technologies to such a solution.
