  • 1.  Why the would “transaction rate” of a resource change to $0?

    Posted Jul 06, 2018 05:34 AM

Till about 6/1, the transaction was calculated at the rate X GBP

From 6/4 onwards, it is showing as 0 USD

Any reason why this would happen?

    Hi NJ,

Ideally, if a project has a cost of one currency it should not let you change the currency.

Are we sure the currency  got changed from GBP to USD?

Also check for the rate matrix FROM and To date which is matching this resource.

    Some screenshots would help.

    Thanks,

I also think it has to do with the Rate Matrix only. I am assuming that the exchange rate is filled up correctly for converting GBP to USD. But still, you should check there once as well.

So, basically, two places to check, Rate Matrix to find out if the RATES are defined for that resource and then the Exchange Rates. Need to make sure that the exchange rate is also defined between GBP and USD, and that needs cover the transaction time period. Also the conversion rate should not be Zero (0).

    Hi NJ,

Usually Foreign Exchanges Rates are created for 2 periods in a year from Jan to Jun and Jul to Dec. This is what we follow. Hence, it may be worth to check the To Date field as mentioned above.
