AWI: SSO stops working after a while

We set up AWI & SSO so that AE users can simply click a link to log in to the AWI. It works fine most of the time, but we have seen a problem that can happen if a user leaves the AWI window open for several days. If the computer is put to sleep or the network connection is otherwise lost, the AWI session will time out. Often, simply pressing the Escape key will refresh the session. However, if the AWI session is more than a day old, this may not work. Instead, the user may get an Access denied error when trying to refresh the AWI session. Closing the browser tab/window and trying again may work, but it may not.


I have found a reliable way to fix this problem though:

  • Completely quit and restart the web browser; or
  • Delete the AWI session cookies and try again.
