  • 1.  Session recording X11 XMING activity

    Hello

We have been looking into the X11 config to allow our UNIX adminstrators to launch this via a PAM SSH or PuTTy session, it works as we hoped and the xwindow fires up as we wanted, but it doesn't appear in the session recording, all we get is the logs from SSH or PuTTy. Is this to be expected? Currently running version 2.7 of PAM (Upgrading soon!).

    Any help/advice would be great.

    Regards,

    Marcus

Hello Marcus, Yes, this is expected. The CLI recordings are text-based and do not capture xwindow activity. All you see is the command that launches it. This has not changed in recent releases.

    Morning

    Thanks for the quick reply

I'm assuming the only way to capture all activity would be to use a terminal server and record the RDP session, this would then mean we lose the benefits of the text based recording buy means we see everything that has happened.

    Regards,

    Marcus
