I am using Servicedesk 17.1 and CABI 4.3 sp5. While generating reports when i select parent incident category like HARDWARE i want to get all incidents in reports which are under parent category (HARDWARE) as well as all sub category of HARDWARE

Have you tried adding the query with a % at the end of HARDWARE category so that you could fetch all the tickets with HARDWARE and under that category? Let me know if this little change helped your query
Try to run the same query on the DB to see if you are able to fetch the results as per your requirement to save some tim eon CABI reports.
Please check the query which is now running , as per your suggest where can i add % in this query. guide me how to get the requirement.
Perhaps you can add an additional where clause similar to the following
in.incident_area_symbol CONTAINS HARDWARE
