  • 1.  Moving Service Desk From Windows 2008 to 2012

I am moving our development environment from a 2008 windows box to a 2012.  We plan to use the same database.  We have shutdown all services.  How do we tell Service Desk to use the old database?

Assuming that the Windows 2012 server is using the same version of Service Desk as the old install, all you should need to do is run a pdm_configure, and reference the correct database server.

It looks like you may be using an older version, but if you happen to be using 12.9 or newer, double check the usp_servers table in the database as well, you may want to manually update the database to reference the new hostname in the "local_host" field (case sensitive).

Since you are using CA SDM 14.1, you should follow the steps provided by Alex_Perretti

Please advise if you have any additional questions.
