Server disconnected in CSA

    Hi All,

     

    We have added two new servers in the current cluster but they are showing as disconnected in the CSA.

     

    The host.xml and properties,xml files has been changed in all the servers to add details of new one.

    The beacon is also removed and added again for them but still they not showing up in CSA.

     

    Could you please suggest something which can help us in this case.

    Hi Pragya

     

    It could be the .pwd file which contains CSA password is different in each server. You could follow this technical document to reset the csa password in all the servers under the  How to reset the System Administration (CSA) passw - CA Knowledge .

     

    Doing that you can restart the services and test.

    Hi Suman,

     

    The new servers are cloned with one of the existing server. So, should have same password copied to new ones.

     

    Should we try resetting CSA password for all?

    I will try to do that, and then run the admin tower test to see if the nodes are communicating within subnet.

    Okay Suman, we are trying now to reset CSA password for all servers.

     

    We tried admin tower -> list clients. It is showing new servers as offline.

    Is the beacon running on all the machines

    yes beacons are running on both new servers. We are able to redirect to these servers from load balancer.

     

    Have tried resetting CSA password for all servers (4 old and 2 new) but still they are disconnected in CSA.

    What version are you in, i hope the bind address and multicast address is correct in properties.xml.

    We are on 15.4. Could you please let us know does host.xml contains all the server details including the owner of the host.xml.

    If you are on 15.4 why dont you use JDBC ping instead of Multicast we do have it as feature. https://docops.ca.com/ca-ppm/15-4-1/en/administration/csa-ca-ppm-system-administration/csa-configure-jdbc-ping-as-an-alt…

    We do not want to change the setup now as cloud migration has already started in lower environments. Just want to add these new servers in cluster.

     

    We have already raised a case to CA but have not received any response.

     

    Could you please help in setting up here.

    Do you mind sharing the case number. Also in cloud multicast is not supported that was the reason i said to move to JDBC ping.

    For cloud separate setups are being done with new infrastructure and multicast settings through JDBC ping.

     

    But currently we need to work with these existing setups for couple of months until cloud setup is completed.

    Resolution notes from case 01152051.

     

    Indications of Multi-cast messages not being sent and received by the two servers. Admin tower test too showed the two application servers as "offline"

     

    Problem was with Firewall service on the systems, disabling it did fix the issue. The 2 servers that was showing offline is now back in the Admin tower test and CSA.
