  • 1.  CA  SOI EOS & Multi Site cluster

    Hi Team,

Could you please help us on the following information.

    1) If you refer the CA HA recommended implementation approach, it talks about Multi-node Architecture, where as current SOI Architecture in our customer environment is Multi-sites. Does CA Support multi sites & Multi subnets cluster on Windows 2008 R2 OS ?

    2) Could we get a confirmation on EOL date for CA SOI V4.2?

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Varun,

As per the support case, we will mark this question as answered.

SOI does not mandate what type of subnets to be used in the underlying MSCS clusters. SOI failovers in an MSCS HA environment rely on a highly reliable N/W with very low latency (~ < 5 ms). Else there would be delays when the primary nodes are switching to the secondary nodes. So technically having different subnets in a multi-site env should work as long as the network connectivity is good. But on a practical note there could be a time-lag while switching SOI manager (+other SOI components) from a primary cluster node on one site to the secondary cluster node on the other site running on different subnets. This was due to N/W latency as observed in our lab trials.

    Thanks
