  • 1.  NIC Card failure monitoring

    Hi ,

     

    We have a requirement to monitor NIC card failure.Is there any parameter in VMware probe or any other probe for this in UIM.

    I checked VMware probe metrics :VM_NIC and VM_NIC_AGGREGATE but nothing suggested will monitor Card failure

    Is UIM capable to monitor the same ?

    Hi

    The VMWare probe can only collect what the vmware API can provide.

    If you can identify a system error that relates to the NIC failure then you could use logmon

    I hope in case of NIC failure we will get device down alerts ,Most of the VM's will have single NIC .

    Could this be an option ? PING check over net_connect probe.

    Yes we are thinking of providing ping check.
