  • 1.  Data Source already registered to another Performance Center instance

    Hi Guys

I'm trying to add an eHealth Data Source on CA Performance Center but I am getting this error below. How do we resolve this?

The other question is which eHealth do I add as a data source in the even that we have distributed cluster which comprises of the 6 back-end distributed servers and 1 console/reporting server?

Do I add only the console or do i have to connect to each and every backend cluster member.

    Regards

    David

    Hi David:

What version of CAPM is this?  In the later versions on CAPM we do not support ehealth as a datasource (I "think" we stopped in 3.2 )

    Hi David:

The current version of CA Performance Management is 3.6.1 and ehealth would not be supported as a datasource for this version of the product

    Regards,

    Joe

    Hi David:

Looking in my 3.6.1 lab I see ehealth is an option to add as a datasource.  I suspect this is simply an oversight.  eHealth is not a supported datasource in the current version of the product

We will take this up with engineering and the doc team

    Regards,

    Joe

I just looked at my 3.6 installation of CA PM and eHealth is listed as a choice for adding as a data source.  So, _IF_ it still works, which it may not any more...  to register a distributed eHealth cluster as a data source you have to connect it to your reporting front end console for the eHealth cluster.  You can only do one, and it has to be a RFE console system.

One thing to note... if your eHealth RFE is already registered to another CA PC or NPC, you will have to unregister it from the other one before you can register it to your new CA PC since it can also only be registered to one PC instance at a time.

You can always try it and see.  I'm trying to move off of eHealth officially now (even though my "cold dead hands" are resisting futilely!) and I was not planning to connect it to my new CA PC.  But if my current issues persist I may have to reconsider doing that.

Let us know if it works for you.

    Hello David,

Just as a complement, we have a document about this behavior:

Unregister eHealth from NPC Manually - CA Knowledge
