  • 1.  CAPC replaced devices with same ip are of different vendor

    Hi All,

We are running CAPC and we had some Juniper devices being monitored which were replaced with Cisco devices and they maintained the same IP address. But when we look in the inventory it is still reflecting the device as Juniper. What is the procedure for getting the inventory to update with all the correct information.  I tried wallowing though the docops documentation without seeing a solution. Is there a tec bulletin or step by step somewhere someone could share so we can get the devices to the correct representation in CAPC?

    TIA

    Patrick,

How many devices are in this situation?  I would think that either retiring or deleting the old device then prompting a fresh discovery would be the cleanest transition in this situation as the original device really no longer exists.

    Hi Patrick,

How are things looking in the environment?  Were you able to clear up the devices?

pretty darn sure we used a method to replicate this in the attachmentfrom the monitored devices
