    Hi Team,

I have a requirement where a pool of IP's are available for DNS A record and domain is pointed any of the IP address from this IP pool.

The requirement here is we need to monitor the domain and send an alert whenever there is an IP change.

Is it possible with dns_response probe.

Please help me with this request.

    Regards,

    Usha

there is nothing Out Of The Box that can do this.

This would require a lookup in some table or database of the known good host to ip configuration and then

doing some type of check to see if that is what you are getting back such as a nslookup or ping and comparing the results and then taking action.

Currently, there are no probes that can do this.

I would think you could set up a reference file with the good configuration information and then use a script to parse out each check and then report on that to a log file. then use logmon to monitor the log for and send an alarm based on the output you create.

If you would like to see a probe developed to help with this please do open an Idea so the PM team can look into this for you as a future release.

Maybe others will have an idea here as well.
