    I need help with defining the HTTP port for our Jaspersoft deployment.  The default port, 8080 is used by another application on the server, so I attempted to redefine it without success.

    At C:\Program Files\CA\SharedComponents\CA Business Intelligence\apache-tomcat\conf I found the server.xml file, which I edited.

    <Connector URIEncoding="UTF-8" connectionTimeout="20000" port="8080" protocol="HTTP/1.1" redirectPort="8443"/>

    updated to

    <Connector URIEncoding="UTF-8" connectionTimeout="20000" port="8090" protocol="HTTP/1.1" redirectPort="8443"/>

    I also edited the js.quartz.properties located at C:\Program Files\CA\SharedComponents\CA Business Intelligence\apache-tomcat\webapps\ehs-ca-reports\WEB-INF (ehs-ca-reports is the name of our web application).

    and modified the report.scheduler.web.deployment.uri line to include 8090 instead of 8080.

    After starting up the service, the results is a 404 error.  It's definitely not a firewall issue as I can telnet to the server over port 8090 and the server is also listening on that port as well.

    Did I miss something?

    The following Tibco documentation outlines the files involved in changing the Server port settings:

    Tibco mentions a properties.ini file which should be under the root of the application directory.  My installation doesn't have that file.  Everything else matched Tibco's documentation precisely.

    Do you see any errors in the C:\Program Files\CA\SC\CA Business Intelligence\apache-tomcat\logs

    Hey Scott,

    If your other application already using :8080  is another Tomcat type of application, then I'm wondering if the issue is not with :8080 but with the shutdown port of Tomcat (default is 8005, AJP is 8009).  Some times the port conflict error misleads us from this perspective of :8080.

    Hope this helps

    Scott,

    As Raghu noted above, there must be some type of port conflict.  I used your server.xml on my instance and was successfully able to log on via http://localhost:8090/jasperserver-pro/flow.html?_flowId=homeFlow

    I did not need to change js.quartz.properties

    Perhaps using the Windows NETSTAT command could assist in determining the port conflict.

    Are you still having issues with redefining the Tomcat port used by JasperSoft?

    Sorry, I was pulled into another task and had to put this on hold.  Yes, still having issues.  I am going to perform more troubleshooting next week using the suggestions everyone has offered thus far.
